Tar Baby by Desiree Burch and Dan Kitrosser

Picture
NOMINATED FOR NYIT AWARD OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE ART PRODUCTION

A highly interactive semi-solo show about race capitalism and America. Opens with a musical number with audience participation acting out the history of the slave trade, involves cotton candy hair booths, “beat the shit out of Racism” strength tests, face painting, and a interactive giant white sheet fort.

I worked with Desiree and Dan in developing the show at PS122 with TerraNOVA and then at the New Orleans Fringe before opening at the Daryl Roth 2 Theater in Union Square.
