The Other Mozart by Sylvia Milo
NYIT AWARD for OUTSTANDING SOLO PERFORMANCE.
An one woman show about the musical prodigy Nannerl Mozart, the oft forgotten sister of Mozart, who travelled through Europe with him as a child playing for kings and queens until she reached a marriageable age.
Based on the letters of the Mozart family, the play takes place on top of and inside an 18 foot dress, and features original music by Phyllis Chen and Nathan Davis of the International Contemporary Ensemble, lighting by Joshua Rose, and a Drama Desk nominated Sound Design by Nathan Davis.
There’s a big talented artistic team behind this production, you can find out more about them here.
Sylvia and I spent a year developing the show before taking it through a number of Festival performances and then debuting it in NYC. The show is booked every year all over the world for performances: London, Hong Kong, Canada, Germany, Austria, and more. You can find up to date touring info here. So far the role has been played by Sylvia and superstar team of alternate performers, and it has been translated into French, German, and Portuguese.
